Craft Workshop for Care Homes

Duration: 1-2 hours
Group size: 10 adults (extra residents charged at £12/person)
A workshop with a purpose of using up the scraps! Much like the sensory workshops, these are also designed to be inclusive and filled with sensory elements along the way.
Each workshop is run personally by me, to ensure consistency and familiarity each time I visit. This means I can grow a bond with the residents and learn their individual needs and preferences.
Every workshop is set up with calming, sensory elements on the table and all based around lavender and it’s wellbeing benefits. Residents get to choose from coloured piles of fabrics scraps to create their master piece; currently I am running canvas, vase decorating and memory box workshops, but much like the sensory ones.. this will be expanding soon!
What’s amazing about this is it really takes the residents back to basics, community projects around a table that everyone can enjoy. The end result ends up being different for each individual, showing how brightly their personalities shine through.
Much like with the lavender filled gifts in the sensory workshops, the strength lavender offers for its wellbeing benefits is strong here too! Each resident leaves with something lavender filled; a bag tied to the memory box, a fully sewn bag to hold while they gaze at their canvas or a vase filled with lavender finished with a beautiful lavender sprig.
How long are your workshops?
The Craft Workshop for residents can last between 1 to 2 hours - it really depends on the residents and how long they need.
