Workshops for Adults with Learning Disabilities in Somerset & Dorset

Designed for you and made for connection.

These workshops have been intentionally split into two ability levels to cater for your members so that they get the most from these sessions. Both end with a beautiful lavender filled gift they can give to family or keep, filling them with an incredible sense of pride and achievement, not to mention the thrill of giving the gift!

Every workshop is set up with calming, sensory elements on the table and all based around lavender and it’s wellbeing calming benefits. Your adults get to choose fabrics to suit their own personalities, resulting in a wellbeing gift at the end they are truly proud of and connect with. From drawing around templates, to filling their gift with lavender, each stage requires gentle focus.

Thank you for taking the time to explore these workshops.

After each sensory and embroider workshop, every adult takes their ‘gift’ with them, this has so many benefits wrapped into one by allowing each individual to:

  • Show their achievement to others; incredibly powerful for personal pride and maintaining a sense of community.

  • Show family members giving their relatives the knowledge that their loved one is truly valued and cherished.

Each gift has its own wellbeing benefits that they can either gift to others or keep to use themselves. Gifts are either a pillow for comfort, a heart to aid sleep, or a wardrobe freshener to hang on their favourite outfit.
