Sensory Workshop for Adults with Learning Difficulties

These workshops can be adapted for seasonal events such as Easter, Remembrance and Christmas. Adults choose from a variety of fabrics to create a beautiful gift, sewn on a machine by me (or them if safe to do so, with careful guidance).

Choose from the workshops below to find one best for your group; perfect for community groups, day care centres or organisations supporting adults with learning disabilities.

Suitable for groups of 6 adults, this allows the space for each individual to learn in a calm environment and ask for help if needed.

Dream Pillow workshop:

Choosing from a selection of fabrics and filling with soft stuffing and lavender, this is a lovely sensory experience for each participant using not only choice, but touch and scent. Each pillow is for them to keep at the end, and a perfect aid for back, neck or hip pain.

Seasonal Workshop:

I embroider a set of designs dependent on the time of year. These can be poppies for remembrance, bunnies for Easter and designs for Christmas. Choosing from a selection of fabrics, adults can then make their lavender filled gift, ready to pop under their pillow for a relaxing and calming sleep, or gift to a loved one at home.

How long are your workshops?

The Sensory Workshop for Adults can last between 1 to 2 hours - it really depends on the group and how long they need.
