I'm Tara Goddard, the founder and maker behind this small Somerset business. I started Fabric Sewn Beautiful because I believe that giving a gift to someone you care about is one of life's most meaningful gestures, so the person who makes it should care just as much.
I create handmade personalised lavender gifts that are thoughtfully designed with wellbeing in mind. Every gift has a purpose, whether that's encouraging better sleep, bringing a sense of calm during anxious moments, offering comfort through difficult times, or simply reminding someone they are loved. My hope is that every gift brings not only a smile when it's opened, but genuine comfort for years to come.
Each gift is sewn by me using carefully chosen repurposed fabrics, making every piece completely unique while giving beautiful materials a new purpose. Many of my gifts can be personalised with names, initials or meaningful designs, creating keepsakes that are as individual as the person receiving them.
At the heart of every gift is dried lavender, chosen for its naturally calming and wellbeing benefits. Sustainable Gifting
All my products are made using pre-loved fabric; giving it a new lease of life and love, this means each gift I make is completely unique. The way I work with you to make your gift, allows you to choose the fabric that you feel you love the most, making it completely your design and vision.
Every gift is always wrapped lovingly with paper and twine and finished with a gift tag. Smaller gifts also come in a recyclable gift box or bag. Each product has a small gift tag on the packaging explaining exactly what is is for, giving that extra touch of elegance to your handmade gift.
Why Lavender?
Lavender is incredibly beneficial and has natural wellbeing properties.
It reacts with the chemicals in your brain to send calming signals, resulting in reduced blood pressure, slower heart rate and normalised skin temperature.
This is why we associate it with calming thoughts and helping with sleep, as it physically helps our bodies get to that state.
Lavender has also been proven to aid in easing headaches, anxiety and stress and is widely accepted as having anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Lavender also can last for up to 20 years, so that scent can be revived just by giving it a little squeeze to release the oils within the buds.

These are gorgeous fabrics that simply aren’t needed anymore. They are either donated to me or I buy them and turn them into something unique.
Every gift is wrapped in eco-friendly paper, paper tape and twine, and depending on your gift they might also come in a recyclable box too!

Yes of course, there are a few products this can’t work for such as the organza bags and confetti, but mostly I can replace the lavender with stuffing for you, so it still has that lovely personal element, without the lavender.

Once you have an idea of what you want, email me and we can work out how best to make your gift idea into a reality!

Once you are fully happy with the design, I will email you an invoice, which needs to be paid before I begin making your gift.
Once payment is made I will email you a confirmation and keep you updated throughout the process.
Depending on the size of your order, gifts will take between 1-3 weeks; from payment confirmation to being ready to post.
Once wrapped, I will send your gift and email you the tracking number so you can keep an eye on where it is. Delivery usually takes 2-3 working days.

Yes, all gifts come lovingly packaged in stamped brown paper, paper gift tape, and finished with a twine wrap and a gift tag.
If your gift is posted, it will also come wrapped in recyclable and biodegradable bubble wrap; made from 40% recycled content.
This will be posted in a 100% recycled pink mailing bag, so you can’t missed it!

Unfortunately not, the laws around sending gifts filled with lavender to other countries vary greatly. Due to this I only post to UK addresses.
