Inclusive Sensory Workshops for Care Homes and Adults with Learning Disabilities
Welcome to Fabric Sewn Beautiful
A small Somerset business dedicated to supporting the more vulnerable members in the community through creativity, connection and sustainable practices. Helping people reconnect with the moments they cherish most.
Fabric Sewn Beautiful was founded by Tara Goddard in 2023 as a personalised gifting business, using repurposed fabrics to create meaningful gifts. However in May 2025 this flourished into bringing that creativity into care homes, adult day care centres and individual homes. Helping those who are more vulnerable create pieces personal to them, that they can be proud of.
These sensory workshops, create a calm, safe and creative space for those vulnerable adults in our community; the elderly, those with learning difficulties and those with disabilities; mental or physical.
At Fabric Sewn Beautiful, it’s all about connection.
Connection to a loved one or that part of ourselves we didn’t realise was inside us.
My mission is to open that door of possibility for this community and show them what they CAN do, not focusing on what they can’t.
Delivering these not only in day centres and care homes but people’s front rooms, have made me realise how much impact these can have on the wellbeing of the individual as well as the family. This has given me inspiration to turn these workshops into an activity box designed for connection. Handmade and filled with sensory items and story cards to follow, this was created for families, careers or care home staff, to do with these adults, allowing that relationship to blossom.
Emma an Activities Lead said “One of my bedbound residents loved the textures against his face, you could tell he recognised the scent. He is non-verbal but the smile he gave was lovely”.
Each workshop, activity box or personalised gift at Fabric Sewn Beautiful will always be “Designed for you and Made for Connection”
